A German drone manufacturer Quantum Systems with assets in Ukraine raises €160M and becomes a unicorn
Quantum Systems, a German company developing AI-powered unmanned aerial systems for both defense and civilian use, has raised €160 million in Series C funding, bringing its total investment to €310 million. With this, the company has officially entered the unicorn club, reaching a valuation of over $1 billion – the first dual-use tech company in Europe to do so.
Quantum Systems’ flagship drone platform has already been tested in combat conditions in Ukraine, where the company actively operates and holds Diia.City residency, benefiting from Ukraine’s special legal and tax framework for tech businesses.
The company produces reconnaissance UAVs used in defence, as well as agriculture, mining, and infrastructure monitoring. It has secured government contracts in the U.S., Colombia, Australia, Germany, Spain, and Ukraine.
