Forum on the Export of Ukrainian Weapons Held in Kyiv
On May 22, Kyiv hosted the first public forum dedicated to the export of Ukrainian weapons and military equipment – "Security Export: Ukrainian Technological Weapons in the World." The event served as a platform to discuss the prospects of bringing Ukrainian weapons to international markets as a tool to strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities and its standing globally.
The forum brought together over 500 participants, including military attachés, diplomats from partner countries, arms manufacturers, military personnel, civil society representatives, and exporters.
The program included several panel discussions on key topics such as:
debunking myths about the export of weapons and military equipment;
investment, tax, and legal challenges;
the role and future of Ukrainian weapons on the global market.
During the forum, the Tech Force in UA, an association of leading manufacturers of innovative weapons for defenders, submitted an open letter to the President of Ukraine, urging the lifting of the de facto ban on exports of domestically produced weapons. The letter emphasizes the need for a government decision on this issue and calls for the creation of transparent arms export control procedures.
