Ukrainian drone motor manufacturer Astravidya has raised investment from Czech industrial group S-Tech Ventures. The deal amount was not disclosed.
The funding will be used to launch a new production line with capacity of up to 50,000 electric motors per month, strengthen the company’s R&D centre and expand its engineering team.
Astravidya says it already has agreements with five large customers ready to purchase 50,000 motors per month. The new production capacity will be used to supply Ukrainian manufacturers of UAVs and unmanned ground systems.
The company designs and produces electric motors with more than 70% localisation. It has in-house machining and stator winding processes, reducing dependence on Chinese component supply chains.
In the long term, S-Tech Ventures plans to help Astravidya launch a second production line in the EU and integrate Ukrainian motor production into European defence supply chains.
