Czech Pavetra and Ukrainska Bavovna collaborate on Shugai UAV and jet interceptor
Czech company Pavetra Aerospace and Ukrainian firm Ukrainska Bavovna have signed an agreement to jointly develop new defence systems, combining their technological and operational expertise. The partnership covers the development of the Shugai strike unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and a jet interceptor, to be produced at a joint venture in the Czech Republic.
All legal procedures for establishing the partnership have been completed, and the project has entered the active research and development phase. The first combat tests of the new technologies will take place soon.
The Shugai UAV, designed for engagement at ranges over 50 km, has already passed initial tests as of November 2025. The platform features modularity, adaptability to different munitions, and a low production cost, making it suitable for scalable deployment.
The joint development aims to leverage Czech and Ukrainian expertise to accelerate production and testing, ensuring rapid integration of both strike UAVs and jet interceptors into operational use.
