General Cherry and ORQA launch joint drone component production in Ukraine and Croatia
Ukrainian drone manufacturer General Cherry has announced a partnership with Croatian company ORQA to produce drone components in Ukraine, alongside a parallel joint production line in Croatia.
In Ukraine, both partners are establishing local manufacturing capacity, including a large underground facility. The goal is full localisation of drone component production within the country. This partnership is part of the “Build in Ukraine” model, where foreign defence companies set up production directly in Ukraine.
At the same time, the partners are launching serial production in Croatia, focused on developing next-generation drone technologies. The first joint products will enter production soon.
General Cherry currently produces FPV drones, fibre-optic-controlled UAVs, and interceptor systems. The company has also recently announced a joint venture in the United States with Wilcox Industries.
ORQA is a Croatian drone and component manufacturer operating in more than 50 countries and supplying products to 24 NATO members, with a stated focus on fully non-Chinese supply chains.
