Ukrainian defence firms expand cooperation with German industry
On April 14, six Ukrainian–German defence partnerships were launched under the Build with Ukraine initiative to scale production of UAVs, missiles, air defence systems, and related technologies across Ukraine and Germany.
Culver Aerospace, a Ukrainian defence company specialising in the development of UAV systems and deep-strike drone technologies, partnered with Germany’s Helsing to co-develop and produce deep-strike systems in Germany. The production line is expected to be supported by German state funding and focuses on scaling long-range strike capabilities using Ukrainian-developed technologies integrated into European manufacturing capacity.
Fire Point, a Ukrainian defence manufacturer focused on FPV drones, strike UAVs, and missile-related technologies including long-range strike concepts and guidance systems, signed a cooperation agreement with Diehl, the German manufacturer of the IRIS-T air defence system. The partnership focuses on integrating Ukrainian engineering solutions into air defence development, with an emphasis on system compatibility, missile-related technologies, and future co-development of air defence components.
Ukraviasystem, a Ukrainian aerospace and defence technology company working on avionics, missile guidance components, and aviation systems integration, entered cooperation with German company POINToX to develop and produce missile and aviation systems. The project targets joint engineering and production workflows, combining Ukrainian aerospace expertise with German industrial capacity, although technical details about the partner remain limited publicly.
The partnerships enable coordinated production and development between Ukrainian companies and German manufacturers, with manufacturing and engineering tasks distributed across both countries to accelerate delivery of defence systems.
