Ukraine simplifies component imports for defence manufacturers
The Ukrainian government has simplified the procedure for confirming customs benefits for defence companies importing components for weapons production.
The procedure was simplified under Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 638 of 20 May 2026, which amended the rules for importing, first supplying and targeted use of goods intended to produce defence products. Details of the relevant Cabinet resolution are available via this link.
The changes apply to materials, units, equipment and other components used in defence manufacturing. They cover defence enterprises, co-contractors under state defence contracts and subcontractors involved in defence procurement.
Companies will no longer need to submit a number of supporting documents in advance. These documents must be reflected in the customs declaration and provided only upon request from customs authorities.
The government also removed the requirement to submit copies of contracts, technical passports and other documents three days before customs clearance.
The changes are intended to speed up component logistics and production processes for Ukraine’s defence industry.
