Ukraine and Germany work on joint anti-ballistic missile defence programme
Ukraine and Germany have agreed to cooperate on the development of an anti-ballistic programme. The agreement was signed by Ukraine’s Defence Minister and Germany’s Defence during the Ramstein-format meeting.
The agreement is aimed at strengthening industrial cooperation between Ukrainian and German companies in air and missile defence. It focuses on developing European and Ukrainian anti-ballistic capabilities and supporting the future development and production of advanced interceptor missiles.
The initiative is part of a broader project to create a sovereign European solution against ballistic missile threats. For Ukraine, the priority is to improve the protection of cities, critical infrastructure and civilians from Russian missile attacks, while Germany and other European partners are expected to benefit from Ukraine’s wartime experience in building anti-ballistic capabilities.
The companies involved were not officially disclosed. The project may be linked to FREYJA, an anti-ballistic initiative by Ukrainian company Fire Point, which recently announced cooperation with German radar manufacturer Hensoldt.
