Ukraine and Germany launch Brave Germany programme

02 Липня 2026

Ukraine and Germany have agreed to launch Brave Germany, a joint programme focused on defence technology development and support for startups.

Brave Germany is expected to run joint project calls, help Ukrainian and German teams develop and test technologies and support further industrial cooperation. Priority areas include uncrewed systems, AI-enabled solutions, high-power lasers, secure communications, missiles and deep-strike capabilities.

The countries also plan to jointly produce drones with ranges from under 100 km to 1,500 km. Germany has already started financing Ukrainian middle-strike and deep-strike drones aimed at disrupting Russian logistics.

The cooperation builds on existing Ukrainian-German defence production projects, including joint manufacturing initiatives by Ukrainian drone companies in Germany.

Germany has also allocated initial funding to support Ukraine’s drone assault units. In the second half of 2026, Germany plans to assess Ukraine’s DELTA battlefield management and situational awareness system, with possible future implementation for the Bundeswehr.
