Ukraine and EU launch Drone Alliance
Ukraine and the European Commission are launching the EU-Ukraine Drone Alliance to connect drone manufacturers, users, governments, testing sites and members of drone and counter-drone coalitions.
The European Commission opened a call for founding members from the EU and Ukrainian drone and counter-drone ecosystem. The selected members are expected to form the initial Alliance Council, set priorities and help match battlefield requirements with industrial capabilities
The Alliance will focus on strengthening European and Ukrainian capabilities in drones and counter-drone systems. Its work will include identifying supply chain vulnerabilities, supporting joint ventures, accelerating production and improving coordination between industry and governments.
In 2026, the Alliance is expected to bring together Ukrainian and European companies, public institutions, developers, manufacturers and testing infrastructure. In 2027, it aims to launch joint ventures, technology roadmaps, interoperability standards, faster production processes and mutual recognition of qualification and certification procedures.
