Aequo advises Epicentr Group on USD 120 mln loan from European Investment Bank

Aequo has acted as Ukrainian law counsel to Epicentr Group, a Ukrainian market leader in agribusiness, construction material manufacturing, DIY retail and distribution, in connection with the attraction of USD 120 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the development of agricultural infrastructure in Ukraine.

EIB's financing will be directed to the construction of elevator complexes for the storage of grain and oilseeds, as well as to the development of supporting infrastructure. The attraction of the loan will allow Epicentr to introduce the most modern technologies and management processes aimed at expanding its activities in agribusiness. The newly built facilities will also provide an opportunity to create new jobs, and this will not only have a positive impact on the development and improvement of social conditions in local communities, but will also contribute to the economic growth of Ukraine as a whole.

Aequo team assisted Epicentr with negotiating the key legal terms of the deal and underlying transaction documentation.
