Acting for the receivers appointed by the High Court of Justice in BTA Bank v. Ablyazov et al.

Aequo acted upon the instructions of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for the receivers appointed by the London Commercial Court of English High Court of Justice for the worldwide assets of Mukhtar Ablyazov, a Kazakh tycoon and former chairman of BTA Bank, one of the major banks of Kazakhstan, sued by BTA Bank for fraud and damages amounting to over US $6 billion in total.

The scope is a series of proceedings in Ukraine connected with recognition and enforcement of the English court orders and obtaining control over the Ukrainian assets of Mr. Ablyazov.
