Aequo successfully represents Forbes at Ukrainian court in a dispute regarding the forbes.ua domain name

We acted for Forbes in a dispute arising out of the Forbes’ former Ukrainian licensee obtaining control over the forbes.ua domain name on the basis of a Ukrainian court judgment. In addition to Forbes, a US-domiciled corporation, the claimant engaged a Ukrainian co-defendant to obtain a claimant-favourable venue for the litigation. Forbes had not been properly summoned until the first instance court decision was issued and enforced in Ukraine.

The Aequo team acting for Forbes appealed the first instance judgment and had it overturned by the court of appeals, which also dismissed the claims related to the forbes.ua domain name as affecting Forbes’ trademark rights.
