Oleksandr Diakulych is a seasoned competition lawyer with over 17 years of practical experience, which includes support of large-scale transactions, landmark antitrust investigations, and antitrust litigation. His professional career combines in-house experience at a major industrial group with many years of practice at a leading Ukrainian law firm.
Oleksandr specializes in handling complex projects across the full spectrum of antitrust legislation, with a strong focus on high-value merger clearance mandates, assisting clients in behavioural investigations into anticompetitive concerted actions and abuse of dominance, in unfair competition cases, and in matters related to state aid.
He has substantial experience in antitrust litigation, having represented clients in numerous high-profile and precedent-setting cases challenging decisions of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. Oleksandr’s long-standing expertise also includes advising clients on antitrust compliance, developing and implementing internal policies and regulations, and training the company's top management.
Oleksandr has deep sectoral expertise in the energy, banking, TMT, FMCG, retail, digital platforms, pharmaceutical, agricultural, and automotive industries. He is known for providing practical, business-oriented advice, based on a thorough understanding of the current approaches of the antitrust authority, specific market dynamics, and business needs.
For many years, Oleksandr has served as Co-Chair of the Competition Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, where he actively contributes to expert discussions on reforms to antitrust legislation and the alignment of antitrust enforcement with global best practices.
Oleksandr is also a Senior Lecturer at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, where he teaches a course on competition law.
