AEQUO has been named the second most innovative law firm in Europe in Finance and Yulia Kyrpa is among top 10 Legal Innovator of the Year finalists, according to the FT Innovative Lawyers 2015 research released on October 2, 2015.

According to the FT Innovative Lawyers 2015 researchers, Yulia Kyrpa is “an outstanding specialist in the field of banking and finance law, at a time of immense challenges”. She has tackled the difficulties surrounding the 2014 Ukraine revolution with a commitment to reform. Ms Kyrpa assisted the EBRD on the launch and implementation of state insurance of household deposit and bank reform, bringing Ukraine’s legislation into line with best international practice. Ms Kyrpa full-scale legal assistance for NCH Capital, a leading US private equity fund, was essential in achieving the acquisition of the insolvent Astra Bank from the state. And by finding innovative legal solutions Ms Kyrpa and her team ensured that Ukraine could agree borrowing from the EU.

This is a landmark achievement for our firm. We are extremely happy that our efforts and hard work aimed to stabilize the Ukrainian financial market following the outbreak of conflict in 2014 have been noticed and appreciated. It is also very encouraging to further pursue innovative solutions and original thinking to achieve better results for our clients,” – said Yulia Kyrpa, partner.

We are delighted to have earned such recognition and to be in the shortlist along with such renowned law firms as Allen & Overy, Linklaters, Hogan Lovells, Baker & McKenzie, Slaughter & May, White & Case. I would like to personally congratulate Yulia Kyrpa for being among top 10 finalists of this prestigious award. This is an incredible result for our firm which was founded only a year ago,” – comments Denis Lysenko, managing partner.
