Aequo Shortlisted in Three Categories at the Chambers Europe Awards 2026
Aequo has been shortlisted in three categories at the Chambers Europe Awards 2026: Law Firm of the Year: Ukraine, DEI: Outstanding Law Firm, and DEI: Outstanding Contribution.
These nominations reflect the firm's professional achievements, the recognition of its expertise by clients and peers, and its contribution to advancing equality of opportunity and access to the legal profession.
Law Firm of the Year: Ukraine
Aequo has been shortlisted for the Chambers Europe Awards 2026 in the category Law Firm of the Year: Ukraine.
This nomination is based on our submissions to the Chambers rankings and reflects the strength of our team, expertise, and client trust.
We are especially proud to see this recognition alongside our latest results:
Aequo is the only Ukrainian law firm ranked Band 1 in two practices in Chambers Global 2026 (Corporate/M&A and Dispute Resolution: Domestic);
top-ranked in 7 practice areas in Chambers Europe 2026;
11 of our colleagues individually recognised.
DEI: Outstanding Law Firm
Aequo is the only Ukrainian law firm shortlisted for the Chambers Europe Awards 2026 in the category DEI: Outstanding Law Firm.
We were shortlisted with a project that brings together research, the professional community, and practical solutions to rethink access to the legal profession.
Together with LegalTalents.Report, we conducted Ukraine’s first nationwide survey of law students on starting a legal career and the barriers they face. The results became the foundation for a broader market discussion, in particular in collaboration with the Ukrainian Bar Association and with the participation of Anna Babych.
The next step was the implementation of a practical solution — Future Lawyer: Aequo Summer School. Designed for 2nd–3rd year students, the programme helps them explore the profession early, gain practical experience, and make more informed career decisions.
We continue to develop this direction by advancing initiatives that make access to the legal profession more open and transparent.
DEI: Outstanding Contribution
Aequo has been shortlisted for the Chambers Europe Awards 2026 in the DEI: Outstanding Contribution category.
This category recognises individual leadership in advancing equality of opportunity, highlighting partners and counsel who drive DEI through initiatives, community engagement, and changes in professional practices.
In this category, Executive Partner Anna Babych has been nominated for her consistent work in expanding access to the legal profession in Ukraine.
On her initiative, Aequo, together with LegalTalents.Report, conducted the first nationwide survey on internships in law firms, which revealed systemic barriers for young lawyers. In response, the firm launched the Future Lawyer: Aequo Summer School, an educational programme for 2nd and 3rd year law students focused on accessibility and informed career choice.
These initiatives have already become part of a broader professional discussion, including within the Ukrainian Bar Association.
We are pleased to be among those contributing to these changes and continue moving forward.
