European Defence Tech Hackathon – 6–9 November, Kyiv

From 6 to 9 November 2025, Kyiv will host the European Defence Tech Hackathon for the first time – an international technology event designed to promote defence innovation and foster collaboration between engineers, the military, and the private sector. The event is organised by the European Defence Tech Hub (EDTH) in partnership with Ukrainian technology company Moodro and Nordic Air Defense. 

The hackathon will bring together more than 200 participants, including defence industry representatives, investors, and military specialists. This year’s focus will be on developing anti-drone technologies – particularly systems for the detection, interception, and elimination of unmanned aerial vehicles. 

The programme will feature a 48-hour hackathon, complemented by lectures, workshops, and project demonstrations. The Ukrainian Armed Forces, in coordination with the organisers, will define the key technical challenges, ensuring that the solutions developed are viable and suitable for operational use. 

EDTH aims to strengthen technological resilience across Europe and Ukraine in the security and defence sectors. The event represents a significant step toward developing a dynamic, innovation-driven ecosystem focused on next-generation defence technologies.
