Aequo signs UN Global Compact Statement for Renewed Global Cooperation

Leading Ukrainian law firm Aequo has signed a Statement from Business Leaders for Renewed Global Cooperation, recognizing that peace, justice and strong institutions are beneficial to the long-term viability of organizations and are foundational for upholding the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In the spirit of renewed global cooperation, Aequo as a responsible business commits to demonstrate ethical leadership and good governance through values-based strategies, policies, operations and relationships when engaging with all stakeholders; invest in addressing systemic inequalities and injustices through inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels of our business; partner with the UN, Government and civil society to strengthen access to justice, ensure accountability and transparency, provide legal certainty, promote equality and respect human rights.

The Statement includes the full list of supporters presented to the UN Secretary-General during the UN Private Sector Forum on 21 September as a part of the official UN75 commemorations.

In July 2020, Aequo together with 30 leading businesses and organizations in the country participated in the Voluntary Review on Business Progress in Ukraine in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) , a review of the private sector progress, showcasing its innovative internship AEQUO Friends supporting SDG 4: Quality education. The internship was commended in “Managing and Developing Talent” category by the annual rating of Financial Times Innovative Lawyers 2018.
